EC-33

A versatile portable meter used to measure salinity of water or total dissolved solids in liquid. This meter offers highly precise measurements from a single drop of sample, allowing for testing of leaf sap, seeds or even saliva. It is small and lightweight, with a waterproof tip. Perfect for lab or field use.

Horiba LAQUAtwin Conductivity (EC), Salt, TDS Meter (EC-33)

Features:

  • Measures conductivity (1 1µs/cm - 19,999µS)
  • Measures salinity (0-1.1%)
  • Measures total dissolved solids (0-9900 ppm)
  • 3-point callibration
  • Waterproof tip
  • Quickly and easily measure the purity and salinity of water
  • Estimates EC of samples higher than 19.9ms/cm
  • The sensor is directly immersible allowing for field use
  • Automatic calibration
  • Automatic temperature compensation
  • Requires only a small drop of sample (Minimum sample volume: 0.12ml)
The Horiba LAQUA Twin EC conductivity meter can measure the conductivity of a solution from a single drop of sample. Users can either place a sample on the meter's flat sensor on immerse the meter's tip directly into the sample, giving the meter a broad range of applications e.g. measuring rainwater pollution levels or the electric conductivity (EC) of solutions used in agricultural operations.

Nutrients in the soil are only available to plants in ion form when dissolved into a soil solution. This EC meter measures the quantity and mobility of ions (cations & anions) and helps to monitor the amount of nutrients available to the plants. You can also monitor for high conductivity, an indication of high salts and the potential for leaf burn.

Uses:

  • Measure the purity of drinking water
  • Leaf sap analysis, to determine nutrients not yet complexed into sugars
  • Find the concentration of nutrients in foliar and hydroponic fertilizers
  • Measure the level of water soluble nutrients available to crops in the soil
  • Monitor the salinity of soil and manage damage from high salts caused by pollution, synthetic fertilizers, or sewage runoff
  • Determine what Dr. Reams called "ERGS" (energy released per gram per second) 1 ERG = 1 microsiemen
  • Track water quality of rivers, lakes, underground water, waste water, etc.
  • Check sea water desalination systems used on small ships and cruisers
  • Monitoring fish tanks and other aquatic systems
